How to Read a Muhurat
A muhurat in a ritual context is an auspicious period selected according to a tradition. It is not a universal clock time that remains the same across India throughout the year.
Brahma Muhurta
Under the common 48-minute convention, this interval begins 96 minutes before sunrise and ends 48 minutes before sunrise. If local sunrise is 6:20 AM, the illustrative interval is 4:44-5:32 AM. This example is not today's city-specific ritual time.
Abhijit
Abhijit is associated with the central part of the daytime period. Calendar practices and exclusions differ, so consult a location-specific Panchang rather than assuming a fixed 11:48 AM start.
Rahu Kaal
The calculation divides local sunrise-to-sunset into eight parts and selects a part by weekday. Use the city-based Rahu Kaal estimator for that convention, with its stated astronomical limitations.
